Our family likes animals, but we haven't had one in years. We just have not been stable enough to have one. Last weekend, I decided to to get a cat. The kids and I looked at the Humane Society's selections, and just didn't find a fit. I came across a picture of a cat on craigslist. She was a rescued kitty, having been found in a snowstorm just a month ago and skinny as a rail. The people who found her, couldn't keep her as they already had 5 other cats and 2 dogs. We went to look at her, and it was love at first sight. She is still skinny, but she will be well spoiled by my three kids.
We named her Lady. She has this wonderful personality. When Lady wants attention, she will walk up to you and head butt you. She drinks out of the toilet, (I did not know that cats did that), and she like to paw massage people. She is very vocal, and likes to talk to us, and has no problems about letting me know exactly what she wants.
Because she is so skinny, I have been trying to give her lots of soft food for her to eat, and put milk on her dry food to soften it up. I found out that doing so is not a good idea. Lady was sick the next day, and she let me know every time she threw up that she was not happy about it. She would make a "meyah, meyah, meyah, meyah," sound just before she hurled. Poor cat! Good thing that lasted only a day. NO MORE MILK!
I did get her some canned food, and she likes that very much.
