Our family likes animals, but we haven't had one in years.  We just have not been stable enough to have one. Last weekend, I decided to to get a cat. The kids and I looked at the Humane Society's selections, and just didn't find a fit.

A piece of my grandmother's past

My grandmother was three years old when her family got a visit from the local wildlife. An owl flew into the cabin that her father and mother built at the base of Lone Cone mountain in Norwood, Colorado. Grandma was one of twelve children.

How to save your garden from squirrels.

  I like to feed the squirrels in the neighborhood.  We used to have a flat feeder, but the crows showed up, and started to eat all of the peanuts we put out.  It's amazing how many whole peanuts a crow can shove down it's throat.  So my bf built a feeder box …
